A Weekend Full of Fun

This was probably one of the best weekends we have had in a while. Porter loves the sun just as much as Brad and I so we spent the entire weekend outside! We played and played and played some more. It was finally warm enough to let him play in the water so we turned on the water hose. It can keep him occupied for a few hours and he thinks it is hilarious to spray you if get close. He also has a cup that he carries with him and he will fill it up and run and pour it on us or the dogs and then he cracks up laughing. Then we watched Brad fix fence and took a walk so we could pick flowers. He liked pulling the petals off all the flowers so I didn't get to take any in the house but at least he enjoyed it.

Sunday we got up and went to church and then made homemade edible play dough. Kasen helped me mix everything and get it all stirred together. Then we made crosses, snakes, a dog and feet/hand imprints. By the way it was completely disgusting and I'm not sure why they call it edible. I guess just in case a kid gets brave enough to eat some it can't harm them but I didn't have to worry about that with Porter or Kasen. After one taste they both spit it out and weren't trying it again.

Then we took Porter on his first fishing trip! His interest in it lasted about 15 minutes. Brad helped him throw it out and then showed him how to real it in a couple of times. After that he didn't want anyone touching his pole. He carried it around swinging it and sticking the end in the ground. He stood next to Brad while he fished and hit him with it a couple times. If I tried to touch it to help him real it in he would get mad and jerk it away. He didn't like the fish much either and wouldn't touch them. He thought they were funny when they flapped but that's it. I think he will get the hang of it the more we go and we can't wait to take him again!
